Newmarket Plant Hire Ltd was established in 1987 supplying mechanical plant and equipment to the Construction and Civil Engineering Industry. In 1998 a sales shop was formed within the Newmarket Depot to service the requirements of local builders and DIY enthusiasts.

1999 saw the opening of our Newmarket Plant Cambridge depot and in 2000 negotiations were completed with the Sargeant family for the purchase of Sarbir Plant Hire (Cambridge and Harlow Depots) and Watlington Plant Hire near Kings Lynn. Both companies have been hiring out plant to the construction industry for the last 30 years. This then gave Newmarket Plant Hire Ltd depots in Harlow, Kings Lynn with the Cambridge depots combined in 2001 to make a total of four Depots for the Newmarket Plant Group.

In 2002 the assets of P&R Tool Hire, Luton were acquired adding a fifth depot to the group. In November 2003 the location of the Luton Depot was moved to Bolton Road , this placed the Depot in a more central area and has enabled the addition of tool hire, sales and service for Luton . When this new Luton Depot was opened we took the opportunity of rebadging. The Luton Depot is now known as Newmarket Plant Hire Luton.

The addition of 2 further Depots is planned by 2007.
